Ý 1: Competent authorities play a major role in environment protection.
→ By introducin gregulations and imposing pecuniary fines and other severe punishments, they are able to deter and prevent those deliberately causing harm to the surroundings.
→ E.g. Singapore, the cleanest city in the world, achieves its reputation as a result of harsh penalties against litterbugs.
Ý 2: Environment protection should be considered by businesses as a part of their corporate culture.
→ Instead of placing profit on top priority, they had better produce environmentally friendly products and invest in advanced waste treatment systems with the notion that these actions pave way for their sustainable development.
Đoạn 2: Vai trò của mỗi cá nhân trong việc bảo vệ môi trường
Ý 1: Household waste accounts for a significant percentage of the total waste discharged into the environment.
→ E.g. On average, each person releases approximately 1.8 kilograms of waste, especially non-recyclable plastic products, on a daily basis, contributing to the death of marine creatures and contaminating our habitats.
→ Should each person be conscious of and competent at curbing the amount of garbage dumped, the whole society can go green.
Ý 2: It is residents’ commuting habits that are responsible for air pollution and global warming.
→ Particularly, private motorised vehicles, whose number is on the rise, emit greenhouse gases such as CO2 , CO, SO2 and so on.
→ Only when inhabitants’ major modes of transportation are switched to public ones will air quality be improved.
