Some advantages of technology

• To help somebody to keep in touch with friends and family: to maintain communicationswith someone

(giúp ai đó giữ liên lạc với bạn bè và gia đình)

Example: The availability of advanced technology helps people to keep in touch with their friends and family who travel abroad. (sự có mặt của công nghệ hiện đại giúp con người giữ liên lạc với bạn bè và gia đình từ xa)

• To make education accessible to countryside students: give countryside students the chance to study

(khiến giáo dục dễ tiếp cận hơn đối với học sinh ở nông thôn)

Example: Equipping remote schools with more computers could make education accessible to the countryside students. (trang bị trường học với nhiều máy tính hơn có thể khiến giáo dục trở nên dễ tiếp cân hơn đối với học sinh nông thôn)

Some disadvantages of technology

• To lack social skills

Example: Children who spend too much time in front of  computer screens will lead to lacking social skills. (những đứa trẻ dành quá nhiều thời gian trước màn hình máy tính có thể mất đi những kỹ năng xã hội)

• To face health problems

Example: Individuals using smart phones too much time might face some health problems related to eyes. (những người dùng điện thoại quá nhiều có thể đối mặt với các vấn đề sức khỏe liên quan tới mắt)

1. A computer buff: an expert computer user – chuyên gia máy tính

Example: Liam is a computer buff, so when my laptop has problems I ask him for help.

2. A techie: somebody who has an interest in technology – người yêu thích công nghệ

Example: I can say that I am a techie, I do research about computer and internet all the time.

3. Wireless network: a network where users can access the internet without the use of fixed cables – mạng không dây

Example: Setting  up wireless network will be really convenient, because you can connect to the internet anytime and anywhere in your home.

4. Breakthrough: an important new discovery in technology – bước đột phá

Example: Microchip is one of the greatest technological breakthrough that mankind has made.
